Overnight Shooting Targets Shreveport City Councilman

Police are looking for the suspects accused of an overnight shooting targeting a Shreveport City Councilman`s home. It happened early Monday morning, in the 4100 block of Evers. District F Councilman James Green says he confronted a group of suspected drug dealers late Sunday night. He reportedly asked them to take their business elsewhere, and they did. "But then about 30 minutes later they came back and I heard gunshots," said Green. Green was not hurt in the shooting. But there was damage to his home and his vehicle. "They did this... and all I asked them to do was get off this corner selling dope," said Green. The area is protected with video surveillance cameras, but police say none were pointed at Green`s home during the time of the alleged attack. Shreveport Police Chief Mike Campbell says he is not going to allow Green`s status as a city councilman affect the outcome of the investigation. "We`re going to keep a cool head about this and all shootings we investigate," said Campbell. Meanwhile Councilman Green has a message for the suspects who vandalized his property. "I refuse to let them take over my neighborhood. I refuse to move! So they may as well get ready!" If you have any information regarding this crime, please call Shreveport Police.
