Accident Kills N. Caddo Cheerleader

brokenwindshieldA north Caddo Parish community is in mourning after an overnight accident that killed a high school cheerleader and critically injured another student. The wreck happened last night at the intersection of U. S. Highway 71 and highway 170. Police say 17 year old Zachary Lewis pulled out in front of an 18 wheeler which hit Lewis’ SUV broadside. Lewis’ passenger, 17 year old Amanda Sparaco, was killed instantly.

Lewis is reported to be in a coma at LSU hospital. Both of the teenagers were cheerleaders at North Caddo Parish High School. This morning, the principal, along with school counselors and local ministers visited each homeroom class offering grievance counseling to all the teens’ fellow classmates
