Bossier City police have arrested a Shreveport man for using personal information from a former roommate to obtain credit cards and charging $40,000 over several months. BCPD white collar crimes detectives Wednesday arrested Robert G. Blackstock, 34, at his home on a warrant charging him with identity theft. Blackstock is accused of stealing his former roommate’s personal information while the two shared a home in Bossier City from September 2006 until February 2007. During that time police say Blackstock used the information to obtain four credit cards in his former roommate’s name and went on a spending spree that resulted in Blackstock charging $40,000 in credit card bills. Blackstock used the credit cards to make a wide array of purchases including meals at restaurants, automotive repair work and hotel rooms. Blackstock was booked into the Bossier City Jail on four counts of identity theft.
