Updated: February 6, 2007
According to his family members sergeant Robert Paul Kassin was a man who loved his country and would do anything to defend freedom. This was actually the second time Kassin had been to Afghanistan. He volunteered to go. Kassin was killed there when his platoon came under fire while on patrol. Kassin was shot twice. He died from the wounds. During his time in Afghanistan Kassin`s grandfather was sick. He told his wife if anything happened to him he wanted to be buried next to him. Today his wish was granted. Kassins family still owns fifty acres of land by the cemetery he was buried at. Family members want the soldier to be remembered as the fun loving person he was. A man who had a good sense of humor about life.
