BOSSIER CITY, LA -- The Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs out-muscled Youngstown for a full sixty minutes, beating the SteelHounds 3-1 and ending their eight game winning streak. The Abbott brothers provided all the offense in the first period. Cam Abbott corralled a rebound off a Jason Basile shot from the right point and slipped it by Roberts to put the Bugs on the board. Cam Abbott later dug a puck out of the corner and fed his brother who was cutting to net in the high slot, he beat Youngstown goaltender Brad Roberts glove side and extended the Bossier Shreveport lead to two. The Bugs tallied one more in the second period. Karlis Zirnis and Ryan Fairbarn peppered the goaltender with multiple rebounds until Zirnis finally slid it by Roberts for the Bugs third goal. Youngstown spoiled the shutout for John DeCaro when Matt Hanson sent a rebound from the weak side to score Youngstowns only goal. John DeCaro made 38 saves to earn his 20th win of the season. The Mudbugs are back in action tomorrow night at home against the Oklahoma City Blazers at 7:05.
