Paul Pastorek Chosen As Interim Superintendent Of Schools

teacherThe Board of Elementary and Secondary Education voted today to have Paul Pastorek serve as Louisiana's Interim Superintendent of Education. He was among three candidates for the post and will serve until January 2008. Pastorek who is a past president of the BESE board succeeds Cecil Picard who died last month of Lou Gehrig's disease.

In congratulating him on his selection, Governor Kathleen Blanco says Pastorek shares her passion "for early childhood education and stands committed to sustained education reform."
