Parkway denied home playoff appeal

BATON ROUGE - Parkway beat Live Oak on the field, but the Panthers have lost twice to the LHSAA Executive Committee.

Parkway will not be allowed to play any playoff football games at home in 2013. A LHSAA panel denied Parkway's appeal to reverse sanctions ordered in November of 2012, that ban the school from hosting postseason football games.

The team can, however, play their postseason games on the road.

Parkway's punishment stems from an incident that occurred prior to a playoff game between Live Oak and Parkway on November 9, 2012.

A Bossier Parish sheriff's deputy handcuffed Live Oak Coach Barry "Tut" Musemeche and escorted him from the field before the No. 26 Eagles' first-round game at No. 7 Parkway.

The incident occurred following a disagreement over how long the visiting team could warm up, and officers eventually released Musemeche, who coached the game.
