The city of Texarkana, Arkansas wasted no time in naming an Interim City Manager.

Just one day after announcing Harold Boldt's departure, Arkansas-side Mayor, Wayne Smith, named Charles Nickerson as Boldt's temporary replacement.

Nickerson, who's very familiar with the area, actually served as the Texarkana, Arkansas City Manager in 2004.

Smith says he'll work on budget adjustments, economic development projects, and start the search for a full-time manager.

Nickerson says he's just happy to be back.

"Great things are in this community, and I am delighted to have an opportunity to be a small part of that success story for the next few months as Interim," said Nickerson.

He took on the job of City Manager immediately following the announcement.

A salary contract has yet to be finalized, but will be made public when one is agreed on.
