Suspect in jail after trying to steal purse outside local grocery store

A Shreveport woman faces charges this afternoon for attempting to take another woman's purse in Bossier City.

The incident happened shortly before 9 a.m. Tuesday at the Kroger's in the 800 block of Benton Road.

Alicia Lister, 20, is accused of grabbing the victim's purse but was unable to snatch it away from her.

Lister fled the scene but was arrested once police caught up with her in the 2000 block of Scott Street.

Lister was booked into the Bossier City Jail and charged with attempted purse snatching.
