Hundreds entered Shreveport Community Church to celebrate the life of the church's founder.

A visitation was held Monday for Pastor Rodney Duron, who served in the church for more than 50 years.  The 88-year-old died Saturday morning with his wife Frances by his side.

Pastor Duron started pastoring this church in the 1950's when it was located in the Cedar Grove community.  The congregation has grown to more than 1,000 members.  Duron with his wife Frances also opened Evangel Christian Academy in 1980.

Pastor Rodney's funeral will be Tuesday at 4pm at Shreveport Community Church.
