The world's 1.2 billion Catholics are getting acquainted with the new pope. Pope Francis gave his first blessing Sunday morning in the Vatican City.

In the ArkLaTex, latinos are rejoicing over having the first Latin American Pope.

It's like having a black president like Barack Obama, for us it means kind of the same, said Jorge Garcia Gonzalez. "It feels better."

It's something I can't describe very well," said Father Rigoberto Betancourt. "The blessing of the Lord to our continent."

Pope Francis was born and raised in Argentina. He will be inaugurated Mar. 17.
