Dean Foods has announced that it will lay off 170 employees in Shreveport.
Company officials said Thursday they are ending production at its Oak Farms plant.
Dean Foods plans to maintain about 25 positions for local distribution and sales.
The current production volume will moved to other regional Dean Foods facilities but Oak Farms products will continue to be available in Shreveport.
Production will be phased out over the next two months.
