Shamrock Color 5K and Block Party benefits Cohab

By: Morgan Thomas
Updated: March 15, 2013

Saturday is the first color 5K to hit Shreveport-Bossier benefiting Cohab.  It's called the Shamrock Color 5K and St. Patrick's Day Block Party.

5K participants will do a loop on Clyde Fant Parkway and be splattered with a rainbow of color every kilometer.

"They're going to douse you with color.  You're going to get red at one station, orange at another, pink, purple.  By the end you're going to look like a rainbow," said John Grindley, Cohab Founder.

After you finish, head over to the block party for live music, green beer and a variety of food vendors.  Grindley, is thrilled to be getting his non-profit's name out there.

"Cohab is our shared work space for the creative economy.  Basically, entrepreneurs, business people, free-lancers, start-up companies, knowledge workers - all working in collective endeavors, learning from each other, growing business together," said Grindley.

The event will start and end at Festival Plaza in downtown Shreveport.  It runs from 2 until 6 P.M.  Everyone is welcome to join the block party even if you're not registered to run.  $25 will get you unlimited green beer.
