A man has been arrested in connection with a carjacking in east Shreveport.

After a brief foot chase, Cordell Clay, 30, was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon by Shreveport Police.  Authorities also recovered a weapon they believe belongs to Clay.

On Feb. 23 Clay allegedly held a man at gunpoint and stole his car in the 1800 block on Weinstock Street.

Clay and two other suspects fled in the stolen car but the victim was not injured.

After a brief investigation detectives were able to locate evidence that linked Clay to the carjacking.

Clay was booked into the Shreveport City Jail and charged with armed robbery.  His bond has been set at $150,000.
