Few options
are left to keep the Shreveport Downtown Airport's control tower open. An emergency meeting was held Tuesday for
tenants of the airport.
Cuts by the
Federal Aviation Administration could close the tower. The Shreveport Airport Authority is appealing
that decision.
Airport officials will send a letter to the FAA Wednesday. They're also asking tenants to contact U.S. Senators David Vitter and Mary Landrieu or Congressman John Fleming.
A finalized closure list will be released to the public on March 20th. If sequester cuts take effect the airport control tower will close on April 7th.
