Local elementary receives $50K technology grant

A local elementary school received a $50,000 surprise today to enhance technology.
The "A-Kids'-Choice" Foundation announced its adopting Carrie Martin Elementary School in Plain Dealing. In addition to the big check for computers and tech tools, the school received 6- iPad Minis.
A group of
teachers from the school also will attend a summer outreach program in Boston,
Massachusetts.
"This is above and beyond anything we ever expected. the important it will have on our teachers and students will just be amazing," said Stacy Crawford, Carrie Martin principal.

Elementary is the fourth Bossier Parish School "A-Kids'-Choice" Foundation has
helped. Curtis, Legacy and
Meadowview Elementary Schools also have received financial support.
