NBC 6 Fit Club - Week Ten

Nick and
Jacque started a little competition 10 weeks ago to see who could get fit the
fastest.
Next week
we find out who wins the NBC 6 Fit Club Challenge. In order to make weight next week, Trainer
Janine Bratton from Christus Louisiana Athletic Club thought we needed a hard
core workout this week. So she took us
to boot camp.
"Boot camp can be
anything from jumping jacks, plyometrics, to running, sprinting," said Bratton. "You can start with
30 seconds for each drill, work up to 60 seconds and even up to 90 seconds as
you get stronger."
Janine
takes us through a series of drills that include jabs and jumping rope. It's a full body workout that can break up a
boring exercise routine. The drills help
you function better in daily life.
"Exercise
programs or workouts that actually simulate how your body moves everyday are going
to benefit you more as far as avoiding injury, to help you become more agile,
stronger, faster," added Bratton. "To
protect yourself is kind of the idea."
