The National 9/11 Flag today came to Sutton Children's Hospital in Shreveport today. The flag was, first flown at Ground Zero in New York City where a terrorist attack took down the twin towers in the World Trade Center killing almost 3,000 Americans.
The flag, tattered and torn in the attack, was restored using pieces of flags about to be retired from all 50 states in the U.S.
It now travels the country, serving in official capacities at various veteran and military events, as well as other functions.
Today at Sutton, children, staff and area law enforcement had the opportunity to hear the flag's inspiring story, and even got to hold the flag.
