MONROE, LA - In an emotional affair that saw 23 lead changes, Pelican held the lead when time expired as the Jaguars win back-to-back state titles for the first time in program history.

Ironically, the win will likely be the final game in program history, making the victory bittersweet for
27-year head coach Richard Simmons.

The DeSoto Parish school board will meet March 14th, where they're expected to announce that Pelican All-Saints high school will close and consolidate with nearby Mansfield.

Jaguar senior Zikiteran Woodley led the Pelican offensive assault with 28 points and seven blocks.

Kentrel Sapp poured in 22 points to lead Atlanta.

Pelican ends the season with a 22-8 record.
