Road Construction Set To Begin On Youree Drive

By: Import User
Updated: February 6, 2007
The state department of transportation is finally set to start road work on Youree. A piece of equipment will be installed underground. Its suppose to help drain rain water from Youree Drive to Sand Beach Bayou. The project could take up to fifteen months to complete. The south bound lanes from Southfield to Sand Beach Bayou on Youree drive will be shut down during construction. Thats why some business managers along this section of Youree Drive wonder if the construction work has to be done as planned. "People avoid construction, why can`t they do it at night like nine o`clock to five o`clock in the morning." Other business owners have seen the drainage problems first hand through out the years and they say the work is necessary. The road work is set to begin within six to eight weeks.
