Our area's brightest students squared off Tuesday morning.  The Bossier Instructional Center was the site for the regional Student of the Year competition.

Elementary, middle and high school students from school systems in north Louisiana competed.  Judges scored portfolios, writing samples and interviews.

Webster Parish's middle school student of the year, Anna Tucker prepared for the big day by reviewing current events.

The winners will be announced at the end of the month.  They will then go on to compete at the state level.
