RUSTON - Louisiana Tech head coach Teresa Weatherspoon announced Monday that she has dismissed sophomore guard Kelia Shelton from the team for repeated violations of team rules.
The sophomore guard saw action in 23 games, making 18 starts this season, and averaged 13.6 points and 6.7 rebounds per contest, which both led the team. Shelton scored a season-high and Western Athletic Conference single game record 45 points in a win over UTSA on Feb. 7.
Louisiana Tech will play its final two home games this week, hosting New Mexico State on Thursday and Denver on Saturday.
