Local mayor steps up efforts to keep seniors from going hungry

Mayor Cedric Glover goes the extra mile to make sure older residents in the Shreveport community have enough to eat.

Monday Glover along with Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator personally delivered a hot meal to Ms. Elizabeth Alexander.

Alexander is among thousands in the area who face a shortage of food due to age, limited mobility or low income.

The event was part of the 9th annual Mayors and Sheriffs for Meals.  It is sponsored every year by the Caddo Council on Aging.
