It was an opportunity to good to miss. Hundreds of job seekers turned up Tuesday for the ShreveportHelpWanted.com Career Fair.
The Shreveport Convention Center was full of folks hoping to make a great first impression in front of local employers. Thirty of them with job openings set-up shop to meet people they could potentially hire.
Clarissa walker was attracted to the fact that different kinds of companies - from casinos to car insurance - were all in one place.
"For one I'm a single mother so I'm always looking for anything to help me. This is something - a resource to get me to the next level," said Walker.
ShreveportHelpWanted.com representatives had some advice for job-seekers when it comes to making that first impression at a career fair: dress professionally, bring lots of copies of your resume, and don't be afraid to approach prospective companies with a smile.
