Dozens of teams from across the south compete in annual basketball tournament

Hundreds of people came to Shreveport Feb. 22-24 to see who are the best basketball players in the ArkLaTex.

The championships for the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Basketball Tournament were held Sunday at Southern University at Shreveport.

78 teams competed in eight divisions. The kids took home trophies and t-shirts while the adults took home more than $3,000 in cash prizes.

The last game is at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. At 6 p.m., there's a half court shot for fans. The winner will take home $5,000.

Admission to the tournament is free.
