It's a celebration of our local music history: The Louisiana Soundtrack Experience highlights the Louisiana Hayride Saturday afternoon at the Municipal.
It's the first of five statewide events being put on by the Lieutenant Governor's Office, and it's completely free and open to the public. The music appreciation begins with a 2 P.M. panel discussion with local music experts, followed by the showing of a documentary on the Louisiana Hayride and the up-and-coming band, Dirtfoot.
At seven, it really gets going at the Municipal Auditorium with a full-blown concert event featuring artists representing the past and present local music scene.
"Our music history from the Shreveport/ArkLaTex region is some of the famous music history in the world," said Maggie Warwick, Louisiana Hayride Band.
"Really excited about that because I've never really played with a big live band. I just want everyone to come out and have fun," said Willie Jones, X-Factor finalist and performer.
