Local teen gunned down in late night shooting

A teenager is dead after shots rang out in the Cedar Grove neighborhood.

Shortly after 11:30 p.m. Thursday someone opened fire in the 800 block of Turner Lane.

Demarcus Jones, 17, was shot in the upper body and taken to LSU Hospital but died a short time later of his injuries.

Authorities say there are no suspects at this time but are urging anyone with information about this shooting to contact Crime Stoppers at (318) 673-7373.
