Legacy and Promise - Meet Laurance Guidry

During our series "Legacy and Promise", we honor local African-Americans who have written their own chapter in Black History.

We honor a man who now helps children get a head start in life, as the President and CEO of Caddo Community Action Agency.

It was the support he received as a young child which eventually led him into an influential role in national politics. Watch the video and meet Mr. Laurance Guidry.

Missing dog gets reunited with owner
A local family woke up last week missing something, their dog. Dana Shirley of Minden reached out to NBC 6 News to share her story. She says last week their dog, Lady, was mistakenly picked up by animal control. Luckily, Lady was discovered two days later at a house across town, all thanks to Dana's son.
