RICHARDSON, Texas - April Leonard had the biggest shot of her career last week against Mississippi College and now has received the American Southwest Conference East Player of the Week for her play in two games.  This is the second time this year that Leonard has been named the ASC East "Player of the Week."

Leonard went coast-to-coast with six seconds left against Mississippi College to hit a running jumper for the game winning shot, 60-58, as time expired for ETBU to earn the final spot in the ASC Tournament for the east division.  Two days before, against #18 Louisiana College, she had go-ahead three-pointer in overtime and then went 3-of-4 at the free throw line to seal the upset win.  She posted 14 points vs. Mississippi College and had eight against Louisiana College as six came in overtime.

She averaged 11 points and 4.5 rebounds per game and hit a career-high four three-pointers vs. Mississippi College.

The win over Louisiana College ended their 45-game home winning streak and was their first loss in Pineville, La., since January 2009.  With the win over Mississippi College, ETBU clinched the #4 seed for the ASC East earning their first berth in the tournament since 2009-10.  ETBU's 16 wins are the most, too, since the 2006-07 season when they won the ASC East Division.

ETBU will now face #1 seed Howard Payne University on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. in Brownwood, Texas, in the ASC Tournament.
