Virus outbreak affecting dogs

Local veterinarians are warning pet owners about a highly contagious virus called "kennel cough". It's an upper respiratory infection that affects dogs. Symptoms can include a harsh, dry cough, sneezing, gagging or vomiting after excitement or exercise. A local veterinarian says it's easy to treat with antibiotics. If it's left untreated it can lead to bronchitis or pneumonia. Kennel cough is similar to the colds that people get during this time of year.
