A man faces charges after he's accused of causing serious injury to a three-month old baby.

Shortly after 11 p.m. Monday Lawrence Wright, 31, was arrested and charged with a single count of second degree cruelty to a juvenile.

Authorities say Wright is responsible for hurting a baby boy that was left in his care.

Last night hospital officials contacted police after the child arrived with a severe head injury in the emergency room.

The child is in serious but stable condition and is expected to recover from his injuries.

Shreveport Detectives and the Louisiana Department of Social Services are investigating the matter.
