Legendary Arkansas Athletic Director Frank Broyles announced he will retire effective at the end of this calendar year. The 82-year old Broyles first came to Fayetteville in 1957 from the University of Missouri. As head coach of the Hogs, Broyles won 144 games and led the team to the schools only national title in 1964. He hired Lou Holtz in 1977 as his replacement. As Athletic Director, he has been credited with spearheading numerous fund-raising efforts resulting in world class facilities. School Chancellor John White says he hopes Broyles will remain associated with the school as an ambassador.
