SHREVEPORT, LA - Emotion erupted from Bossier High's Jalen Oliver after winning the gold medal dual in the 182lb weight class at the Louisiana State high school wrestling tournament.

Four years of sacrifice and a senior year of tragedy sent his emotions into his coaches arms following the win.

Oliver's moment on the podium adorning the gold medal was for mom and for his former assistant football coach, Ricky Brown, who died suddenly in Oliver's senior season.

Bossier's football team's season ended in heartbreaking fashion, but the gold medal has redeemed his school and mended his heart.
