His family says theyll remember him as a soldier of God. Hundreds gathered at Morning Star Baptist Church Saturday afternoon to pay their last respects to the late Sergeant Ronnie Lee Sanders. He was a Shreveport native who graduated from Woodlawn High School and went on to serve his country as a paratrooper. Alongside the family stood Sanders fellow soldiers and veterans from the same war, as well as veterans from wars past. Holding American flags and riding on motorcycles they led the family to the cemetery. Crew member and veteran, Dan Brown, says; "Its one way we can say thank you. These missions are our last final thank you before he goes on his final tour with God."
Sgt. Sanders died February 3rd when an explosive hit his convoy truck during his third trip to Iraq. He leaves behind his wife and four childeren.
