The city of Shreveport launches the "Get Fit" Program to help employees improve their health.

They kicked off the program today with a two mile "Love Yourself" walk. The program offers free year-round activities and exercise classes for city employees and their families.

They held a "Biggest Loser" competition from June to July, but they wanted to offer their employees a program that will run all year long.

Classes are scheduled between 11:00am and 1:00pm to accommodate everyone's schedules.

Following today's walk, Shreveport city officials donated money to the local chapter of the American Heart Association.
