A local elementary school invites parents to campus to learn how to motivate their children outside the classroom.  Today, Cherokee Park held a "Family Testing Carnival" to get students pumped for upcoming tests.  Parents who came out listed to a motivational speaker and learned about strategies they can use at home to help students prepare for tests.

Cherokee Elementary principal, Tyrone Burton, says it's about getting the students to fall in love with testing.  There were some incentives for families to participate in the event.  The grade level with the most parents in attendance gets a pizza party.  For every parent who came to the carnival, their children get to wear casual clothes on Friday.
