A former LAPD police officer in standoff with authorities

The search for Christopher Dorner has taken a dramatic turn.

Tuesday afternoon Dorner barricaded himself in a cabin in Big Bear, California.

Before escaping into the woods, Dorner got into a gun battle earlier today with sheriff's deputies.  Two officers were transported to an area hospital with gunshot wounds.

Dorner is suspected of killing three people in a revenge rampage last week.

Authorities believe Dorner allegedly killed a retired captain's daughter and her fianc on Feb. 3 and a police officer on Feb. 7 while allegedly carrying out a twisted revenge plot.
