Teen Not Wearing Seatbelt Almost Loses Life

Updated: February 22, 2007
Louisiana State Troopers say 17 year old Parkway High School Student Cassie Bagley was not wearing her seatbelt Friday morning when she drifted off Sligo Road. They say Bagley hit an embankment at the entrance to Rolling Meadows subdivision, ramped into the air then slammed into a tree. This happened at 7:30 a.m. about two miles east of US 71. Life Air Rescue Crews had to transport Bagley to LSU with a head injury. Doctors expect Bagley to survive. Troopers on the scene say she was conscious and talking to them as she was being loaded into the helicopter.
