Update: Shreveport Police Chief Administrative Assistant Bill Goodin said they arrested 16 people in Shreve City and five people along East Kings Highway. Police said most of the incidents were alcohol-related. Officers also arrested one person DWI.
Shreveport
Police say the delays in the Krewe of Gemini's parade led to them making more
arrests Saturday night.
Sgt. Todd Eatman said people were getting restless and drinking more in Shreve City, while a flat tire was being fixed on the king's float, stationed on Clyde Fant Parkway. Eatman believes that's why his department made double the arrests Saturday night, compared to the weekend before during the Krewe of Centaur parade.
According to Eatman, in Shreve City alone, there were 15 alcohol-related arrests near the parade route Saturday night.
