A new class is being offered to help you fight off criminals.
The Bossier Parish Sheriff's Office will hold a self-defense course Feb. 9 between 12:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. at the Substation at 2510 Viking Drive.
Bossier Sheriff Julian Whittington said, "Teaching self-defense to ladies gives them some basic skills and confidence they need to protect themselves at home or in the community."
The class is provided free and is limited to 40 people.
Although there is no cost for the class, the Sheriff's Office would like you to support their food bank program, Operation Blessing, by donating canned goods.
To sign up for the class, call the North Louisiana Criminal Justice Academy at (318) 965-3525.
