Teen who performed at presidential inauguration is gunned down

A 15-year-old girl who performed at President Barack Obama's inauguration was shot to death in Chicago.
Hadiya Pendleton was hanging out with friends Tuesday when someone opened fire at a city park.
Pendleton, who was shot in the back, was rushed to a local hospital but died a short time later.
Police said Pendleton was probably not the intended target.
Pendleton, who was an honor student, traveled to Washington last week to perform with the school marching band at inaugural events.
Pendleton's murder was one of three shooting deaths in Chicago on Tuesday. So far, more than 40 people have been murdered in Chicago since the beginning of the year.
