Escaped prisoner back behind bars

An escaped prisoner is back behind bars tonight in the Avoyelles Parish Detention Center.  The sheriff's department has been searching for 45 year old Richard Bamburg since he escaped the prison on January 12th.

Bamburg is currently serving sentences for attempted murder, aggravated sexual battery, burglary, as well as a prior escape charge.

He was captured after he was found hiding in the attic of a home in the Martin community of Red River Parish.
