A New Orleans security firm arrived in Shreveport this afternoon to provide special training for security personnel at alcoholic beverage outlet establishments.

The class is a necessity because a new Louisiana law passed in August requires all alcohol beverage outlet security personnel to obtain certification.

The class administered by ABSEC instructed employees and employers in attendance techniques to enhance safety and diffuse volatile situations at clubs and bars. The two-hour session cost each attendee $50.

The new law requiring certification goes into effect in May.
