A man is behind bars for allegedly taking his ex-girlfriend from her Bossier City home and driving her to Virginia against her will.

Jose Guardas is accused of kidnapping the 22-year old woman Wednesday night from her residence at Zacks River Village Mobile Home Park in the 2300 block of Barksdale Blvd.

Bossier authorities started investigating the case after receiving a call from the victim's relative.

Early Friday morning officers with the Culpeper Police Department in Virginia were able to locate Guardas based on a vehicle description and other information obtained by Bossier City Police.

Culpeper police took Guardas into custody and the victim was found unharmed. Guardas faces a second degree kidnapping charge and his bond has been set at $200,000.
