Southern University celebrates one year anniversary of being smoke-free

The Southern University at Shreveport campus is breathing a little easier after being tobacco-free for a year.

Last January the Southern University System Board of supervisors approved the 100% Tobacco-Free Campus Policy. 

Urina F. Holt, Regional Coordinator for the SU Ag Center will hold a special event to commemorate the One Year Anniversary Thursday, Jan. 24 between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the Southern University Metro Center in the 1st floor atrium on 610 Texas Street.  

A second celebration will take place Friday, Jan. 25 between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at Southern University's main campus in the Johnny L. Vance Student Activity Center on 3050 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.
