Fight the flu with food

If you get the flu, you can find some much needed relief in your fridge or pantry.
Health experts say certain foods can help you battle flu symptoms and speed up your recovery time.
Diet and nutrition editor Dr. Madelyn Fernstrom offers some tips on what to drink and eat when you have the flu.
Fight Dehydration:
- Water
- Sports Drinks
- Tea
- Vegetable and Fruit Juices
- Popsicles
- Soup
Fight Nausea:
- Flat Ginger Ale or Coke
- Saltines
Fight Diarrhea:
- Bananas
- Applesauce
- Toast
- Rice
Dr. Fernstrom also recommends eating plenty of
protein such as eggs and yogurt to help rebuild and replenish your body.
