Bossier Parish School officials issued a statement Tuesday
regarding school closures due to the ice storm warning in effect for our area:
Bossier Schools has been keeping a close eye on the
weather situation and in communication with the National Weather Service and
other agencies. According to meteorologists, as the day progresses the freezing
rain will turn primarily into a rain event with temperatures rising above
freezing around 1 p.m. The National Weather Service has also indicated its
Winter Weather Advisory will be ending at 3 p.m. Therefore, Bossier Schools
will not adjourn early. The safest place for students is at school and not on
the roads when conditions are at their worst.
