Focus on the Flu: Urgent Care Prevention

Urgent Care of Louisiana has been a busy place for weeks. People wanting flu shots and wanting to see a doctor.
For the past two to three weeks since the virus swept over the region, the single facility in Shreveport has seen roughly twenty patients a day sick with the flu.
Even prevention with a shot can be challenging.
"We're going through them so fast we're getting shipments in weekly and going through them in a matter of hours," Medical Asst. Jennifer Killeen said.
However, doctors say early detection is key. A nasal swab takes only 15 minutes at Urgent Care.
Urgent Care's Dr. Paul Bracey says their facility is ideal for this type of illness. You might not need the resources of the ER, not to mention your wait won't be as long.
