A Shreveport family is looking for a place to stay after an early morning blaze rips through their home.

The fire broke out around 3 a.m. Friday at a house in the 400 block of 81st Street.

Authorities say the blaze started in the kitchen and spread to the attic causing heavy damage to the home.

The three people who were at home at the time of the fire escaped unharmed and were treated for smoke inhalation at an area hospital.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
