Funeral services set for East Texas college professor

Family and friends will gather to remember a Wiley College professor who died in a motorcycle accident.

A rosary will be held for Valentyn Siniak at 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10 at St. Joseph Catholic Church on 410 North Alamo Blvd. in Marshall. A funeral mass will follow at 5:30 p.m.

Siniak, 37, was killed last Friday after his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck on U.S. Hwy 80 in Marshall. 

Siniak was an assistant professor of biology at Wiley College and had been an adjunct professor at East Texas Baptist University from 2004-2006. He is survived by his wife and two children.
